okay so i have a 1998 ej6/ek hatchback which im trying to revive since i can tell she was once very loved in its life. So from what i can tell i have a cx which was supposed to come with a d16y7 but the motor i have in there is most defiantly a d16y8. there was a battery relocation and fusebox relocation done on the vehicle, i have no issue with this part it actually was done quite right so im going to leave the design of it mostly alone, but the way they shortened the harness and tucked it, over time alot of it has degraded to i found a amazon harness that converted from ob2a on the engine side down to obd1 ecu connectors which for me works perfectly because i have a p28 ecu with hondata on it already so i want to use it. i also want to use it to tune a bigger throttle body i just installed while trying to also install this harness. im replacing with a skunk 2 manifold and throttle body (70mm) also with a new tps sensor and distributor so i would look to keep this layout, i have everything plugged in after confirming most of the pinout routing was correct, im have a issue finding/understanding the pinouts for the connectors that are supposed to connect back into the chassis harness like the c101, c102, c103 plugs, theres a plug that is a newer generation style of plug thats supposed connect to the chassis harness, atp this is what is keeping my car from running i just need to know where to solder these wires to which wires on the donor plugs that i have on my old harness. Im a fulltime mechanic just dont have much knowledge on doing custom wiring, i can install new parts but when it comes to electrical my head always gets fuzzy lol. Any help would be appreciated, ill include a link to the harness i bought and add a phot of the plug i want to use since it would easily adapt to my body harness. Harness :
You have a "tucked" engine harness... what you DON'T have is an OBD-2A chassis swap conversion harness. Unless otherwise notated by the installation instructions (many of these cheap harnesses do not come with them), you have to look closely at the fine print of the sale link and purchase their conversion harness as well. Unfortunately, none of these tucked harnesses are made to a spec... they all differ slightly, and thus, integration into your car will vary from brand to brand. No one here can give you a specific list of exactly what you need to do.
You will essentially treat this type of harness like a "K" swap conversion. The "tucked" harness that you have functions like a '02-04 RSX engine harness on a "K" swap does, which plugs into the engine and the ECU, but NOT the chassis when doing a swap. Buying a "K" swap conversion harness for a '96-98 Civic will provide the connections needed to plug into the large plug on the driver's side of the firewall in the engine bay as you have pictured above (you will actually pull this plug back into the cockpit under the dash). The other side will connect to the tucked harness at the largest grey plug... and you will have a few flying wires that will have to be connected directly. Know that if you have to actually use a "K" swap conversion harness for your chassis, you will have one ECU plug that doesn't plug into anything... and if there are any wires there that will be necessary to run your SOHC engine in your chassis, they will have to be cut from this plug and wired directly to the necessary termination points... which you will have to figure out. Good Luck.

well I figured out what the green plug was connected to from my original harness, I will post the picture of the pinout I generated, now I’m in the process of identifying where the 10 pin shock tower has connections to, I will be seeing if she will crank at least today.
