Default ‘02 Civic Ex Automatic: Big Issues

3 main issues right now, that maybe someone knows how to fix, and wondering if they’re correlated.

first thing is P1259 code. What I’ve done so far Is change my VTEC solenoid and the engine light hasn’t gone away yet. im going to change the oil pressure sensor in the coming days to hopefully make it go away

second; after my car shifts out of first, it’s all hell. it won’t even go past 4000 rpms and just repeatedly revs and sometimes the throttle just gives out completely.

third: fuel economy is horrible. I got a fuel pump off amazon maybe 8 months ago, it’s been doing fine but the last month my car guzzles gas

what ive done so far hoping to fix these issues:

- installed new VTEC solenoid

- installed new fuel injectors

- installed new fuel service port

- changed serpentine (probably unrelated but needed a new one)

like I said, I’m sure these all could correlate somehow, but I’m not 100% sure. Sorry for being all over the place, hopefully yall can help. thanks

If it's not running right you shouldn't be driving it . I think you need a good mechanic and you may have done damage or there may be a problem where it's not worth putting the money into a 20 + year sold car ., That's what I think

Hi, the engine goes into safe mode and will limit rpm at 4000 RPM. P2159 is a Honda DTC. Other DTC codes will trigger the P2159, like misfire codes, O2 sensor heaters codes, or even evap vent valve and evap purge valve codes. You should start by testing ignition coils, spark plugs.gaps, valve lash gaps, PCV valve, EGR valve, knock sensor. Test the VTEC oil pressure sensor, clean the inside of VTEC solenoid...
If the the yellow engine light flashes while your driving, you shouldn't be driving it. You got a lot of work to do.
The parts you changed may improve thing but,.more important are the ignition coils and spark plugs. Also if you have low compression because of burnt valves, P2159 will come on, low oil level will trigger the p2159. the.extremwly poor economy is a serious sign of low compression
