Key transponder not working
New to this forum so please forgive me if I’ve posted this in the wrong place 😁 I’ve got a 2025 civic sport that the key transponder is not working. I just bought the car with moderate damage to the front passenger fender, headlight and bumper cover, so I’m not sure if that would be related to the problem or not.. I’ve tried replacing the battery inside the key fob to no avail. The only way to start the car is to hold the key near the push button start. So nothing works on the key including the door locks and rear hatch. The little red light is illuminating on top of the key. The passenger headlight has not been installed but I wouldn’t think that would have anything to do with the transponder.. Anyone have any ideas??
It could be that the key fob is not connecting with the receiver. Since there was front-end damage, check the wiring near the passenger fender and headlight area to see if something came loose or unplugged.
Ok, I haven’t did the repairs to that area yet. I’ll definitely look closely. I wasn’t sure if there was something around that front passenger area that would cause the transponder not to work..
