So I️ have a 2000’ EX civic and I️ had to swap the vtec engine for the d16y7 not by choice but due to a blown piston. I️ have also replaced the brake line the air intake gasket, the IAC valve and the ECU for the corresponding d16y7, the car runs and turns on fine but only at first. After driving for a while the check engine light comes on and when hitting the throttle the car will rev bounce and not really move the car rather it will make the car seem to almost jump. Right now I️ have just taken the ECU out and plugged it back in and it resets and can drive for a little while again before the inevitable light comes back on. What should I️ be looking for?
