Long time lurker, first time poster. Since 2010 with my '91 DX 5-sp hatch (long gone sadly).
I bought a $500 beat up 1999 Civic Coupe Si (in Canada) (EX in USA) and took the door harnesses, floor harness, power windows, locks, lock module, tweeters, mirrors, etc and put it in my 1999 Civic Hatch DX (Auto ) and got everything working. but I feel like the last step of the puzzle is adding this actuator and wiring it up.
So adding this aftermarket 2-wire power door lock actuator for just the hatch; in addition to the factory power door locks (without keyless entry).
Without keyless entry is when there's only a blue power door lock module in the driver's door. No security control unit inside or part of the radio. That being said, there's some wires that (I believe) are intended to go to the security module had that been optioned.
This is the actuator I'm trying to install.
Here's a video of the positioning of the aftermarket actuator.
I've followed a bunch of different how-to's on how to add power doors (windows, locks, mirrors) and wired it to the security/keyless entry system that the PO installed. Working great, really modernizes this car.
I took the green w/ orange trace from C401 to the unlock (-) trigger on my security system
and I took the green w/ white trace from C401 to the lock (-) on the system.
pinout keyless entry
Can I use factory triggers (wires) from the existing power door lock module or do I need to wire relays?
Thanks!
Today I guess I'll try jumping the grn/orn for UNLK and grn/wht for LK to the two wires and see if I can get some movement on the actuator.
I'll report back with results.
