LS case with gsr internals c-clip installation problem
Bought this gsr trans with a bad case in which I swapped out with my LS case just the back side so no gears or anything was removed. While installing the ls case I’m able to sit it flush of the meeting surface if both cases dowel pins are in. My first problem was once case was in, Input shaft wouldn’t spin after research seemed to be the alignment washer at the top of the main shaft. Got that fixed now I still can’t get the c clip for the counter shaft top nut in for the bearing. It was in when I took the original case out so shouldn’t be any internals problems. I’ve tried different gears, tools, I just can’t get it to pry up enough so the clip snaps in. Some people say there can be things in the way that cause it to not go up all the way but I’m certain that’s not my problem I’m really curious to if the LS casing is causing any problems preventing me from lifting all the way. When the case is off and I lift on the countershaft it lifts high enough to where the clip would go in if the casing was on. Someone please help shi is pissing me off.
