Default Grounding issue

So I just took my d16y7 to the machine shop to have it bored so I found my d15b layin around that was rebuilt and has a z6 head in it with a y8 distributor y8 intake y7 trans and headers. I have a few connections unplugged (they have been unplugged no issues) new one is crank positions sensor which will be bypassed today. But I can’t figure out why my battery ground just melted to liquid the alternator is plugged in but belt isn’t hooked up it cranks and turns over doesn’t start and I get no spark. The shell is a 98 civic lx and I have a 810cca battery but again no issues with the battery before. All I’m trying to figure out is what changed to mess up my grounding and could it be timing related or is it a whole different issue or miss matched connections bc I guesssd my vaccume line connections and I think the small ones that look like vaccume are also coolant and there are plugs that can be miss matched too but that caused it not to start before never had a ground issue before on any vehicle.

(there was coolant and oil everywhere in connectors and all)

So you connected the alternator power wire to the ground battery terminal? Put down the tools and let someone competent work on the car before it burns down.

no all car wiring is oem no change there only wiring I did was sub wires which have been disconnected since the sub is out. My issue is I have a d15b in a 98 civic lx when is supposed to be a d16y7. Butttt everything besides the block has been in the car and had no issues and the block doesn’t have any electrical connection besides crank position sensor which I cancled that out and jumped the wires at the Ecu but either way that shouldn’t get in the way of having spark I figured out my grounding issue somehow it just fixed itself all hoses and wires are plugged in correctly and cleaned now and I just replaced my ignitor in my dizzy and still no spark

This is confusing and difficult to look at. These pictures are chaotic.

1) You have the wrong battery. Should be a 51R. Having the terminals that close to the firewall metal is a disaster in waiting. It's also why your cables are all stretched and don't reach correctly.
2) What is this third terminal with a fusible link?

3) Where is this cable going?

3) These two cables are what should be connecting your positive side. The short (pink) one goes from your battery to the fusebox, long (red) from the fusebox to the alternator lug. The other (thick, green) wire on your positive battery lug runs to your starter. There should be nothing else attached to the positive side of the battery. If you're melting ground wires, you've made something hot that shouldn't be.

Problems don't fix themselves. You haven't figured anything out.

For God's sake, please get a battery tie down once you do have this figured out.
