Default Tuning Australian H22

I have searched high and low. Still confused.

I want to run Hondata S300 on my AUDM 5th gen Prelude VTi-R. I want to KEEP the IAB and knock sensor functionality.

This is leading me to the p72 ECU. Will the USDM p72 ECU plug and play (with the obd2 to obd1 conversion harness) and allow me to keep my IAB? Or do I need a JDM ecu since I have an AUDM car?

I have heard the polarity for USDM IAB signals differ from JDM (and AUDM?) Is AUDM basically just JDM functionally?

Can the auto p72 ECU be converted to manual functionality? I ask because finding these ecus these days is getting difficult and expensive.

thanks for any response.

TLDR; what ecu do I need in my Australian prelude to keep IAB and knock functionality with HONDATA.

An OBD-1 USDM P72 (which is manual) will work just fine for your application once a Hondata S300 is installed and tuned. I am not sure if an Automatic ECU will work since the transmission controller is separate from the engine ECU (meaning will it function properly if you simply alter/remove the necessary resistors/diodes to convert it to manual). You will need an ECU conversion harness.
