Ep3 trans into Rsx type s
eed help on figuring out how to make my speedo work using ep3 transmission. I have a k24 engine and 5 speed trans from 02 civic si, also using kprov3. My vtec doesn’t engage and speedo doesn’t work. I have read that I might need to re pin the plug on the harness and shave down the speed sensor to make fit. Honestly if I can just get vtec to work I’ll be happy.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

If the chassis is a 2003 model and the replacement transmission is from an EP3... the VSS should work. Make sure the 3-wire VSS plug is fully connected/plugged in and the VSS is properly inserted into the transmission. If all this seems correct... maybe the VSS is bad. If you had a previous transmission that the VSS worked in, swap the sensor to your new transmission. If you are unsure about whether the VSS actually worked before... check the VSS fuse as well.
Thanks for your response, I recently bought the vehicle with little information I just checked back and now I’m not sure if this an ep3 transmission as the speed sensor is located in the front of trans, I took out the sensor and it for sure doesn’t fit into plug, it needs to be shaved down a bit
Don't plug it in... you can damage your ECU or other electronics. That type of sensor doesn't work with your chassis directly. You will need to purchase a speed sensor converter and wire it in. K-Tuned makes one.

When you wire in the converter, you will also have to change the plug for the VSS. Make sure you get the wires connected in the proper order from left to right.
