Problem solved!!! 92 ex civic weird issue any advice??
I have a 92 ex civic sedan with a 93 b17 gsr with a LS transmission.the only mods really are cold air intake, skunk 2 alpha 70mm throttle body, dc sport headers. The rest is just stock. The car started to bust up under a load and would fall on its face at around 40% throttle I can slam it to the floor it will pick back up and go.
mind you I bought this car a couple months ago. So don’t know what was done before, so here’s what I have done to try to correct the issue.
I done the basics, plugs, wires, fuel filter (which was nasty). It continues to do the same thing. I swapped out the chipped p28 for a stock p28 and it ran a little better wasn’t busting up as bad. No check engine lights at all.
moved to thinking electrical, checked tps it was out of range and wouldn’t set in the specified range of .48 closed and 4.5 at wot. So I swapped it with an oem one I had on another IM. Got it calibrated and test drove. Still exist. Put a brand new td44u gsr/b16 distributor on it. Got better but still happens.
sometimes it will do it 10 times on a trip to town that’s about 5 miles away, sometimes it only does it once or twice. In a whole day of driving maybe 80 miles or so.
sum up of repairs
plugs
wires
fuel filter
fuel pump and strainer
distributor
map sensor
throttle position sensor
intake air temp sensor
I’m thinking still electrical but any advice on where else I should be looking is greatly appreciated
problem solved updated in comments.
thanks

Reason: Issue solved
thanks for the replies and suggestions. I figured it out.
so after 2 bad computers I finally broke down and bought a refurbished p28 spec with gsr basemap ecu and all the issues went away.
Timing is dead on. That was something I had already checked just forgot to mention.
