Default should i run this cam seal?

I installed a new cam seal but I'm just hoping I didn't bang the seal up too much. It was a really tight fit and I was using a hammer and a socket and periodically using the old seal for cushion. I struggled to keep it even, it went in a little uneven anyway. I had to hit it pretty hard to even it out. No major damage to the seal but you can see where I was tapping it. also, I cleaned the mating surface with brake cleaner and a towel but when I was putting the seal in I could see black oily residue from the old seal on the sides of the new seal. should I redo this? I'm worried to do so as it was a very tight fit and I don't want to damage the cam or sealing surface trying to remove it...

Looks good to me.
An old timer taught me to pack the spring on the backside of any seal in wheel bearing grease to protect it on install
