205/50/15 on 15x7 on 90 si
I have a 90 si and my wheels are 15x7 +35 and I want to use cont extremecontacts, but the only size I can get from work (Honda dealer) are in 205/50/15 and I'm wondering if the car can even fit 205s. Also they are a 200 treadwear tire and I'm wondering how many miles roughly that would last on a car that light with minimal camber (-3/4 ish probably). NOT a daily driver it is more of a weekend/show car
A long time ago, I had an 89 CRX Si and had 15x7 wheels on them. I don't remember for sure, but, I think I was using 205s without any issues. The car was lowered by about 1.5 inches too.
I have 15x7 wheels (38mm offset) with 195/50/15 tires, 205s would be 10mm wider.
They would fit the wheel just fine, just keep in mind that in terms of clearance that the tires will be a little less than 1/4" wider on each side.
Mine are pretty close, I think 205s would rub the fender. With your slightly smaller offset it should be fine. Do you have tires on them to compare against?

This is actually a pretty ideal size for an EF.
The reason you can’t find the ESFs in smaller sizes is because 205/50r15 is the smallest one that exists.
You can reasonably expect 15k-20k out of these tires. They’re not “cheater” 200tw tires like the Bridgestone REs or Falken RT660s that only last for a few thousand before they dry out and have their grip fall off a cliff. They kind of slot into the market right about in the hole that the Direzza ziii has left. Looking like a great tire in the segment - I just ordered my set today!
No need to run crazy low camber, aim for -2 to -2.5 degrees in the front and 1 less in the rear (so -1 to -1.5), zero the toe or go for 1.5-2mm in at the rear and you’ll get great wear AND great handling. Less camber will improve traction in a straight line but will hurt cornering. Toe is what affects your wear though.
