98 ek civic not starting.
First and foremost I’ve done research and google everything I can but there’s no real answer for my actual problem. So any help will be greatly appreciated.
Bought a civic hatchback as a project. Civic was originally auto and was swap to manual. Car drove but was sluggish. While working on it I saw that it was missing vapor canister so I found one and put it back on. While fueling up I noticed that it was spitting out the fuel as if there was back pressure. Upon further testing and troubleshooting I replaced the fuel filler neck and the purge valve on the tank which by the way was brand new. I double checked fuel pump assembly and float hanger and they both appear to be in good working condition. So I went ahead a replace the fuel filter because it was due.
But now the car won’t start. It will crank over but not start. I’ve checked for air, spark, fuel, and compression which is all good. Compression was 155 across the board. I check the coil inside the distributor and that checked out. I checked the firing order from the distributor and that all seems to be correct. My next thing to double check was my main relay thinking it might be the culprit but that wasn’t it. I’m at lost and can’t seem to find what’s wrong with it. Any help will be greatly appreciated. The car is on a chipped P28 and I had my tuner disable all O2 sensors knock sensor and crankshaft position sensor. Also the engine in the vehicle is a d15b7. Again any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
