Lucas Power Steering Leak Stop in a Honda?
I don't like using leak stop on anything but it's a last resort
I got a remanufactured rack and pinion from CarDone. Not 3 days later I see it's leaking, not from any of my hoses but from the power-steering unit itself.
Frustrated that I spent $200 for a faulty part, and deciding that if I need to buy it again I'm gonna go with manual steering anyways, I decided to use leak stop.
Bad move? I've heard of people using Lucas in Hondas.
If it doesn't work, I'm going with manual steering anyways, so if it damages the pump I guess it won't really matter.
What are your opinions on this product?
Never buy a Cardone part.. They are complete junk. Their products, new or reman are all garbage..
Wouldn't hurt to use the Lucas.. It might help a bit?
The only Stop Leak additive you'd want to avoid is for radiator leakage which just clogs up the cooling fins making it less efficient and possibly having complete failure of the rad.
