ECU for OBDIIb swap
Hello! I currently have a bone stock 1999 civic ex (d16y8 with 5 speed manual). I've sourced a b16a OBDI engine for a swap. My question is, how can I go about wiring? I have no problem converting the engine to OBDIIb, all it would take is OBDII injectors, alternator, and distributor. (Not sure about crank fluctuation sensor so correct me if im wrong...) and it should plug right into my stock OBDIIb harness and ECU from the d16y8. Beyond that, what are my options for upgradeability in terms of the ECU? I know I can do the hondata chipped p28 or p30, but I like the idea of the Link G4X. However, these are only compatable with OBD1 and OBDIIa harnesses. Is there any way around this? The reason I would prefer the Link ECU is for tuneability, as I wonder how a stock OBDIIb ECU would react to something like ITR cams and other future mods to the engine. All that being said, what are my options here? Thank you for reading!
