Default car doesn't accelerate in 4th gear

hello I have 00 civic lx d16y7 a/t. just recently did the timing belt, and now when driving the acceleration feels off. when driving from a stop, the car slowly raises rpm, then sort of passes a "barrier" (from 700rpm to 1.3k rpm) and climbs rpms faster. another issue is 1st, 2nd, and 3rd act normal, but once I get to 4th, the car never climbs rpms past 2.5k. pressing the throttle does nothing, unless I fully slam it which will downshift it and start accelerating again.

funnily enough, my username is accelelag..

Did you ensure the engine was at TDC prior to removal and installation of the timing belt?

Check mechanical timing.

I've been busy with work, but going to double check it tomorrow. that's my likely suspicion as well, since it's my first time doing a timing belt 😅

UPDATE: checked the timing belt and cam was off a tooth...

fixed it by releasing tension from tensioner, took belt off, 12mm to cam gear (literally "snapped" into place..) put belt on, turned crankshaft with hand on belt to create tension and then tightened tensioner 14mm.

havent driven it into 4th yet (been busy), but engine seems like its running normal again in 1st gear atleast!
