What is the process to remove any air from power steering lines, and how do you ensure you've removed it all?

How do you detect an air leak in the system?

I think the air just escapes on its own when it gets to the reservoir. I mean the reservoir is not sealed and the fluid is circulating, its not like a brake system. At least that's how it worked on the only power steering system I ever worked on. If you still have air in the system that might indicate the pump is leaking and pumping air into the system. If Your fluid is foaming up that indicates it is leaking on the suction side, it might just be the O-ring where the suction hose connects to the pump.
