Default What is the difference between these rack and pinions?

Hopefully I can find an answer quick, because I need to order these parts ASAP.

I have a 1990 Honda Civic and I'm looking for a new rack and pinion, but I'm seeing two different types that both say they'd fit
This one has a pump type thing (red arrow) with it, which my car also has with two hoses connecting to it.

This one does not come with the pump looking thing.

What is the pump looking thing called?

What does it do?

Why does one listing have it and the other doesn't?

If I bought the one that doesn't have the pump thing, am I meant to install my old pump thing, or is it like a optional component?

What is it called, so I can try to find that specific part separately?

Thanks ✝️

One is a power steering rack (red arrow) and the other is non-power steering.

So if I got the one that is not power steering would it be a lot more difficult to turn the wheel? If I went with that one would it delete the power steering pump?

Will it be too difficult to turn the wheel, and should I just go with the power steering one?

IMO power steering is only noticable under 5mph. Once you are rolling, it's no big deal.

Opinions aside, if you got the manual rack you could eliminate the power steering pump if you wanted; atleast remove the belt from the pump.

I often have to park in tight spaces, and make sharp turns at slow speeds in order to maneuver through parking lots etc. in a fairly large city. I always appreciated how easy it used to be to fit this car into tight spaces and between obstacles so easily.

If this maneuverability at slow speeds in a priority to me, should I just spend the extra money and go with the power steering? Like how big of a difference is it really? Are we talking about having to really use muscle to turn the wheel?

Your car is already setup for it so why not? I agree with @theYBLEGAL It is only noticeable at those slow speeds. If you have to parallel park and K turn a whole lot it might be worth it. What's the difference in price?

The price is more than double for the power steering, but still only $220 for a remanufactured one. I'm gonna go with the power steering one.
