Hey yall, I just recently picked up a 1995 Honda Civic EX coupe. It has about 204k Miles on the D16z6 with a manual transmission.
Q1: Do yall recommend I just refresh the head or should I refresh the head, block, and transmission?
- I plan to go turbo later down the line and would like to keep it D series.
Q2: Where can I get a set of all the mounts? I checked rock auto and they don't have a kit but parts geek does. It doesn't look like they have a name for it as all it says is 'Replacement'
-I have seen sets from innovative and yonaka but would like to do all of them. From the diagram floating around there are 5 total.
Q3: any sites that I can buy door bumper guards that go along the side of the car?

most reasonable priced mounts — Innovative. Don’t buy that Yonaka junk.

 

When you pull the head inspect the valves and valve guides. There's many a ways to see if your valves seal or not. You can get away with lapping them a little bit. If the car runs fine you're probably fine to just lap them. Never hurts to clean everything while you're there.
