Full story: A year ago i moved up north from the south with my civic. When we moved here we just replaced my alternator, brand new. Not too long into winter, my trunk would not shut, had to tie it down with rope, and my gas tank would not pop open when I pulled the lever, had to manut open it with a knife. The light in my trunk would stay on unless we weighed it down with a frozen bucket. Its possible someone ripped the chord to the light in my trunk when trying to open it, after repeatedly telling them not to, because it no longer came on. No issues until half a year ago, after getting one of the wheels for the water pump replaced and a new belt, my car suddenly stopped working. During a drive it would lose power and the steering wheel would lock. At the time we could get it jumped but it would only travel another minute or two before failing again. We assumed it was the battery so we had it replaced a couple days later as well as spark plugs just in case, only for it to work for a few minutes then die down the road again. We got it towed to our house where it sat in the garage for around 6 months until we finally bought a new alternator thinking that was the problem since it had been sitting so long. The car didn't come on at all. No cranking, no grinding sounds, no lights, not a peep of life from the civic. We tried jumping it and only got the headlights and brake lights on for a few minutes, got nothing else to start or turn on, before it died out again. Thinking the battery drained somehow we got a new one, but once again, no luck turning it over or getting lights turned on. My key fob has its usual red light when I press the buttons so I don't believe that's the issue.

Summary: replaced both alternator and battery as well as spark plugs but no lights or sounds come from the civic when trying to turn it on.
