Alternator issue??
So I had the alternator replaced in my honda pilot 2012 about 11 months ago and it has a 1 yr warranty.
just today I noticed the pilot flashing its lights on the dashboard then it would look normal, sometimes it would jump a little(it was about a 3 hour drive) so I was like ok here we go again the alternator is going again. So I made it in town amd it literally died in middle of road and I had just enough speed to get over to the side. Now I will say there has been an ongoing issue with the cable connected to my battery. It's really loose to where I can pull it up and off of it easily and also it puts itself in a position where it will sometimes disconnect itself while I'm driving and when I turn off the car, it won't turn back on until I mess with the cable again and then I can get it to turn back on. The battery is good it's about 2 months new from autozone. This cable issue has only started past couple of weeks. I know that sometimes I am driving with just the alternator but I have only been driving locally. I drive alot that often. So it's been an easy fix but I always thought the alternator would carry the pilot alive unless maybe it's a bad alternator. Well after the pilot died I got out connected the cable back to the battery, car turned back on and made it home but was kinda failing again right before I made it to the drive way. So my question is this. If I can find a way to secure the cable to the battery, am I safe to keep driving the pilot or because of the now alternator issue, it's too late to fix the battery cable and now the alternator is dead? I just don't want to fix the cable to the battery and then drive and get the battery light because the alternator is dead and I'm driving off of the battery(that was the first issue a year ago).
