Honda Civic SI Value?
Hi, everyone. Just need a bit of guidance. I have a red SI, purchased new in 2000, currently a bout 203,000 miles. In past 3 months, I've spent about $3500 on work only to be told I now need a catalytic converter and a water pump. I threw in the towel on this old car and bought something new-to-me. In past year I've had a lot of stuff done including new brakes front/back...i'd have to look at my papers. Body-wise, not horrible but as expected for an old car...some parking-lot damage to the back bumper along with bumps/dings, cracked windshield, drivers window won't roll down. Interior not too bad - worn but nothing awful. In the meantime, I knew the dealer wouldn't give me anything and would send it to the crusher
- a horrible death for what was a great car. So I kept it.
I want to sell it to someone who might want to make it wonderful again. (I'm attached to this car! LOL) I don't want to rip anyone off, but wonder if someone could give me some Idea of what I could ask for it. Over the past few years, people have left notes on my car, stopped me in parking lots asking if I wanted to sell, but I never knew what to ask. Just a few days ago, the manager of an auto parts store wanted to know what I wanted for it. "Name a price". ??? Any thoughts? I"m in Texas and TIA

First owner Si... I would browse similar sales on bring-a-trailer to get an idea of the right asking price. From what I've seen $10k is the floor for running and driving.
10k+ has to be minty

Theres some examples from all around the country, I was bored lol
Thanks, everyone, for your comments. I tend to agree...ask what they will offer and accept if halfway reasonable. The car definitely needs work...that catalytic thing and water pump to begin with. For someone who knows how to work on cars, it might be a great car to invest a little money in. But for someone like me who has to rely on repair shops, it became far too much. I'll try to find my way back to this forum in a few days to check for other comments.
