Default 98 Civic sedan Manifold Issues, Please Help.

So I have a D16Y7 5spd.
it has a swapped manifold
Just picked up this car for my daughter. I'm used to B and K series. Not familiar with parts crossovers etc w D series at all.

The car is throwing CEL PO505 IACV

The iacv is on the back on the manifold, but nothing is hooked up to it. No harness to be found anywhere in the bay for it.

The coolant lines have been looped. What manifold do I have? And what do I need to do to get the idle and throttle issues sorted on this thing?

I get 2k rpm once i start driving it, and when i come into neutral it stays at 2k rpm, i have to kick it down.

Then after car is warm, it will intermittently start to lose throttle, until i kick it up to 2500-3k rpm, and then it feels like limp mode no guts...and only for a couple minutes, then drives ok again for awhile.

are the open coolant lines causing airflow?

what do I need to block off?

The manifold has

Could be a 92-95 D manifold and throttle body. It's too thin to be the D16Y8. If I recall the IACV pins are different between the 5th gen and your 6th gen. You will likely need to do the pin conversion for the IACV. And once you get the IACV working and accepted by your ECU, then you can see what needs doing for idle/running. Without the IACV you have nothing controlling idle. Have to get that figured first before anything else can be sorted. Search IACV OBD2 OBD1 conversion. I don't recall the differences but do remember seeing people talk about it all the time on various swaps. Worse case is you have to get an OBD2 IACV to fit the obd1 manifold.

OP, there is no easy solution for your mess.

First, please post the following information so that you can get the help that you need here:

What is the 3-digit code cast into the back driver's side (left) corner of the intake manifold ? Second, can you find a 3-wire grey plug with a black/blue, orange/black, and a black/yellow wire in it ? No visible plug may mean that the wires are inside some of the engine harness loom/tape. What is the part number of the ECU that is plugged into the car (the part number starts with 37820) ?

If the P2E ECU is still running the show, then swapping in a Y7 throttle body (or one from the Y8 Automatic so you don't have to mess with the cable bell crank) would be a viable setup. there may still be some troubleshooting after that if there are additional issues/leaks causing the code. this gets you the correct 3-wire IACV the ECU needs. plug, block off or seal the 2-wire IACV ports on the manifold. don't forget to set the base idle once you're done and confirm a touch of slack in the throttle cable when fully shut.
