2000 CRV - No Start - Odd Injection Issue
Long time listener, first time caller.
I've got a 2000 CRV awd auto with a no-start condition that started as an intermittent stall.
I initially believed the issue to be ignition related, as the car had an aftermarket distributor, and the intermittent stalling seemed to point to the spark module overheating occasionally.
The car finally stalled on me on the highway, and would not restart, so it was towed home. The car started and drove itself off the rollback and into my driveway.
From this point (being parked) the following has been done.
New distributor (old thought to be bad based on intermittent stall, and wayyy out of spec spark plug gap. Cooked spark module?)
New plugs (with correct gap) and wires
New PGM-FI Relay (found cracked joints in the old one)
New Fuel Filter
At this point, I tested and have spark at all plugs. Checked with both spark tester and pulling each plug to confirm. Spark is strong.
Tested all injector plugs with noid lights, and confirmed pulse
Fuel pump primes and cycles on correctly while cranking. Although I have not directly tested fuel PSI, it's generating enough pressure to blow an injector out of the rail during injector pulse testing. Gauge being delivered this week to officially test psi.
Cams and crank are all in time. no teeth have been jumped on anything
ODD INJECTION ISSUE STARTS HERE
With all those things being confirmed to function, the car still would not start. I pulled the injector rail to finally check the injectors function themselves.
When Cranking, all injectors pulse 1-2 times (this seems to be correct, and part of startup) but then ONLY cyl 2 injector fires from that point on, to the point of basically being a hose.
No other injectors fire beyond the initial 2 startup pulses.
I've swapped injectors around to confirm it's not the injectors themselves causing the issue and it continues only firing the Cyl 2 injector meaning it's signal related.

My question is, before I throw a new ECM into the car, is there a sensor that could be commanding the ECM to ONLY fire one injector?
I've tried swapping the old distributor back in with no change to the odd injection issue, so I wouldn't ASSUME it's the cam position sensor.
The only other rotational sensor I'm aware of is the crank sensor, but best I can tell from reading around, it effects the ignition, not fueling.
Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Small update. Compression tested engine.
All cyls between 145 and 150 psi.
Seemingly in spec there. Was glad to see cyl 2 wasn't washed down to the point of damage.

That injection issue is odd.
Injection timing and duration is based off of distributor input.
Id plug your old dizzy back in and see if it still fires that way.....

Swapped the old one back in and injectors all pulse through the firing order as expected!
Looks like we may have 2 bad distributors each with their own issue.
Will get this one exchanged, and update after that.
Replacement Distributor showed up today, from same vendor, and ALSO causes the cyl 2 injection issue
.
swapped old dizzy back in, issue goes away.
Ordering a cardone one, now, and sending back these amazon junkers.
Also cracked open ECM for a visual inspection while I was waiting for the second amazon replacement. Nothing seems out of the ordinary. main board is very clean. couldn't find any obviously leaking caps or solder issues.
