Default D16Y7/8 engine stiffener in D16Z6?

D16Z6 engine's stiffner comes in two pieces, one for the rear and one for the front, and D16Y is a single piece stiffner.

D16Z6 front and rear engine stiffeners

D16Y single piece engine stiffener

I have a fully stock D16Z6 engine and its AT gearbox and mine is missing the rear one, which im struggling to find, besides that i found a lot of the single pieces
so i want to know if the D16Y's single piece would fit properly in my engine/transmission .

unless someone else knows for sure, I should have these parts on hand to check fit.

Confirmed - the Y7/8 brace fits the Z6 block

Are they interchangeable between automatic and manual?

the automatics use a different part number for this brace, so the safe assumption is that the holes won't line up at the bell housing and auto will not interchange with manual.

I bolted a brace from an '00 LX 5MT to a '95 Z6 short block.

Thank you very much for checking.

For who is guessing, yeah, MT and AT are clearly different

what was confirmed here is that braces interchange between blocks (Z6 and Y7/8) but not between transmission type (MT to AT).

auto trans dust covers interchange between 5th gen and 6th gen. in other words the auto trans has the same bolt pattern for 5th and 6th gen.

so the 1-piece brace from a 6th gen auto will work on a 5th gen, Z6 auto.
