I have a D16a1 in a 01 civic. Ran fine then it was time to change the timing belt bc it was around 120k miles and stopped starting so I did timing belt/water pump change and found the metal pin key that hold the harmonic balancer in time sheered out so we replaced that and lined up timing marks and it ran ok for a little then starting getting stuck in limp mode not letting me rev over 3k and a blinking check engine light that threw code for camshaft position sensor so replaced that with OEM denso and then car ran for a hour and went back to limp mode. Friend suggested disconnecting the battery and touching the cables together to reset ECU and this would always temporarily fix it for random amounts of time. Read some forums and decided to replace battery bc some were saying a weak battery could cause limp mode so I did that and it hasn't gone to limp mode but first time back on the highway and check engine came back blinking and threw codes for misfires on each cylinder even though when driving it feels fine and runs good, then it stopped starting again, reset ECU and it started so I replaced ECU thinking it gone bad had a locksmith come out and reprogram the ECU to car and keys to ECU. Driving around today the day after replacing ECU the check engine light blinked for a few flashes when getting almost to about 80mph on hwy in 5th then when I let off and settled at a lower speed the light disappeared then I get off the hwy and I take a turn in 1/2nd gear a little high in rpm about 4k and it blinked twice and disappeared then going uphill in 2nd I let it climb to 4500 rpm and it blinked for a while even after slowing down but disappeared when I started driving after stoplight
