01 CRV Spark, Fuel, No Start after Timing Belt
Hello,
I bought this 01 crv with about 170k miles and it had a broken timing belt.
I pulled the head off and had it milled down and rebuilt it with new valves and seals and such.
When I went to install it, the crank position sensor was mangled from the belt breaking. I bought a new one. The same as Honda used.
I put it all together and had everything perfectly lined up with pins in the cams. Rotated by hand a few times and checked for alignment. It was a perfect install.
but now when I crank it, I get no start or fire in the cylinder. It just cranks and chugs with no sign of it firing inside.
I tested for spark and fuel. I put a little starting fluid in the throttle body two different times with no sign of firing.
I’m thinking it’s a timing issue. Either with the distributor or something with the crank sensor.
I’ve tried different positions with the distributor but no luck.
Is there something that I should be doing with the crank sensor? I vaguely remember something about unplugging the connector under the glovebox for some reason.
Thank you.

I did a compression test and found that cylinder 2 has 0 compression. The piston is going up and down but no reading. I don’t feel any air pushing through the plug hole when I put my face near it.
Here’s the results of dry test. Cyl
