Hey y’all, I know this has already been beat to hell, but even after combing through these forums, and otherwise, I didn’t feel as secure about my final choice regarding the mounts- I want to make sure this is done right.
But onto the mess, I’m getting ready to replace my steering rack, and I just thought I’d take the time to fix up the underside bit before I do a more thorough refresh further down the line once I’m more familiar with what it’ll take to pull off
While I’m under there, I want to go ahead and get some new motor mounts on it, I learned manual on this car with the engine rocking, so my clutch work is more to accommodate the jerking versus DRIVING the car-
So I was wondering: What would be the best motor mount replacement kit for a daily driver, spirited-backroads-every-now-and-then situation? I’ve seen innovative, hasport, yonaka, I got the impression that these would be best for swaps/harder driving, is that right?
I would go OEM, but the main mounts on the left and right aren’t being made anymore, so I’m going to do my best to preserve the “OEM” feel
It’s a 1994 Civic Si with a D16Z6
I appreciate everything, and apologies in advance any inconvenience.
I would buy OEM style replacement rubber mounts if you want to preserve that OEM feel. If you can't get OEM mounts anymore due to being discontinued, I would make sure the rear mount is OEM (if its still available) since that one takes the most beating and sucks to change.
When I did my EK auto to manual swap, I went with OEM rear, OEM transmission, aftermarket oem type torque mounts, and aftermarket driver side. I really don't have complaints with the setup for daily driving and the occasional autocross and I do expect the aftermarket mounts to not last as long as original Honda, but outside of the rear engine mount, most are easy to DIY myself when that time comes.
Some friends have used aftermarket mounts for the 2 sides but an OEM mount for the rear and it reduces vibration at idle but still stiff and direct enough for a good driving feel
whatever you decide, DONOT REPEAT DO NOT FILL THE GAP IN THE MOTOR MOUNTS WITH SILICONE. That makes them into a solid mount and vibrates the heck out of your teethe (dont ask how I know)
Thank you all so far for the answers, piecing together OEM + aftermarket mounts sounds like my best bet
Last question, are the two lower torque mounts (AC bracket and under the transmission) the most responsible for the engine “jerking” during acceleration? Those two are in the worst shape right now, and I don’t get any vibration or other poor motor mount symptoms from the rest
Would you advise only replacing the two torque mounts so I at least have a smoother ride for the time being? (An OEM rear mount is $130, they *will* be replaced, but I am on a teeny bit of a budget at the moment)

Again, thank you for the help
On a manual car, the rear engine mount gets beatup the worst and is usually responsibly for most of the jerking. I've noticed auto cars don't seem to get beat up as bad.

The torque converter has a lot to do with that as well. No one is popping gears with an automatic tranny. LOL
For the two front torque mounts there are actually several different options that could work. If Si torque mounts are out of stock, also look for automatic Integra ones, or some from various trims of del Sol. The should be the same same style. Also check those part numbers on Amayama.com to see if you can still order them in Japan.
Just be aware your original AC compressor torque mount cannot really go bad. Even though the 4 connecting straps tend to tear away, they only serve one purpose. To hold the two halves in place as you bolt everything down. They don't provide ANY motion control for the engine. You can simply hold it in place by hand as install the big nut.
Tthese torn legs have zero effect on performance.
It's actually the purple rubber bumpers hitting the blue metal hoop and chassis as the engine pulls it up (accelerate) and down (decelerate) that does ALL the work.
BTW, you can use Integra manual torque mounts (including Type R) if you remove these metal plates welded to your frame. That's what I did. It isn't easy to drill out those welds. They're kinda odd spot welds. You can also use the stiffer Type R rear mount with your stock engine.
