Default Re: Civic eg reliability question

Bought a 94 Civic in 1998 @ 88k miles. Broke an axle once in 1999 (had to push to parking, then tow). Only time that car left me stranded. Been driving it since and have ~205k miles. I learned how to work on cars on it, and maintain the heck out of it.

Also 89 CRX bought in ~2001 with ~120k miles. The ignitor in the distributor failed and engine died on the freeway. Had to have it towed to a Honda mechanic who immediately knew what was wrong. Other than that, I had an alternator crap out so the car died at an intersection. Pushed it over to the gas station. Had to have a friend get me, hit up AutoZone, and my garage (tools). Changed the alternator and jumped the car back to life in the AM/PM parking lot. Has 255k miles now.
