Question for EG Sedan Experts: Trunk Hinges / Struts Question
Picked up a CDM 92 Civic EX-V Sedan for a new project. Slowly going through and fixing all the broken crap caused by the P.O.
Question I can't seem to find an answer to is: The trunk doesn't pop up when I open it. I need to insert the key then physically lift it up. I'm no EG sedan expert but I suspect this is not how it is supposed to work.
Maybe the struts are dead? It's got an OEM trunk spoiler on it... I take it these came with replacement trunk struts that are stronger to support the additional weight. Any insights?

Re: Question for EG Sedan Experts: Trunk Hinges / Struts Question
My sister had one brand new from 1991 (92 model year). If my memory serves me correctly I only recall the trunk popping up 4-5 inches, you still had to lift it up to fully open. No spoiler.

if you look underneath the car where the mount is for the trunk/gas release, you may find someone has used the "frame" to jack the car up at one point.
believe it or not, but it doesn't take much for that cable to be off for the release not to work correctly.
