Default Need help spending $200

Hey peeps,

I hate being a broke *** college student but hey I saved up $200 for my first mod for the car. The choices are listed, should I go with practicality in having the Defi VSD II or go for the BlingBling factor and get the Greddy GRacer? I would wait till spring to put the GRacer on cause Michigan weather doesn't agree with new paint hehe. Thanks for voting

If you want the lip you're gonna hafta save up a lot more money by the time you wanna actually put it on. Paint, obviously, and you're gonna need new side skirts and a rear lip for it to look good. My vote goes for the AEM CAI also....

i would say get the aem short ram, and then the hondata intake gasket. The same power and no chance of hydrolocking your motor.

I have the OEM kit on my Prelude already and the painting is prob gonna be covered by the time spring rolls around cause I'll save up for the painting of course.

CAI or short ram, gonna wait till summer to do performance mods but I think the suspension will be done first anyways when I do my summer stint at the DaimlerChrysler Minivan factory. $21/hr

what is the Defi VSD. Is that like a HUD?
Yup, it's a heads up display like the Corvette C5 has, Defi is the manufacturer, only this is of slightly lower quality.

hehe leaning towards the GRacer I see eh?

invest/save it then buy a turbo, if i saved all the money i spent on my car buying headers and n/a stuff like that i'd have so much money to buy a turbo. I'm just now realizing that i should save for a turbo.
p.s. i'm also a poor college kid too but i'm a poor college kit with a garrett t3/60-1!

It's Eucalyptus Green Pearl. It's chipped to hell from all the freeway driving though. I'll post up the OEM lip up for sale when I do get my GRacer painted.

Peace

You know how I feel then. A turbo is a long way in the future. I'm quite happy with the stock performance anyways. Just a car to get me from point A to B in style.

Peace

Save the cash for boost. There's nothing else you can buy that will compare.

I agree with most of these guys go with an intake... Makes a nice first mod and is cost effective. I'm from windsor too man let me know what ya decide on maybe I can hook ya up with a good deal.

Hey that's real cool of you man. Maybe when I finally get my car registered in Canada, I'll finally be able to come to the meets on Saturday. What shop do you know? I'm thinking Speed of Sound eh? I know the guys at Sonic, right next to Wah Court on Wyndotte.

Peace

I have to agree, go with a short ram intake(The Injen preferrably), and grab a hondata gasket to start with. You will get NOTICEABLE GAINS. Then by having a short ram you are setup to do a turbo or SC or since you got the Injen short ram intake if you should decide to stay NA then you can get a CA extension for the short ram down the road as money permits. Trust me this is the smartest way to make gains in your nice ride. Stay away from "bling bling" crap. Such a waste of money. The car looks great without em as it is.
