The title pretty much explains it. My sister has a 2014 Honda CRV. I live in another state from her, and was visiting her last week. We went to run some errands in her car, and it seemed to me that the engine was revving too loudly for the speed we were going. When I asked her about it she said she had noticed it too, lately. So, I am wondering if it is going all the way up into 5th gear, or not. I am back home now, but was going to have her start out from a standing stop and count the gear changes. But to have her do that, I need to know if it starts out in 1st gear or 2nd gear.

Isn’t that transmission a CVT? It might not be shifting into real gears.

 

No, it has a 5-speed automatic transmission.
