2001 civic dx gauge cluster swap gauges not working need help
I have a 2001 civic dx automatic that didn’t come with a stock tachometer (1st pic) so i bought one from a wreckage 02 civic lx that had one, installed it (2nd pic), seemed to work fine except the spedometer seemed to be slow and then i took it out to put the custom faces in it i ordered and i had to take the needles out and then none of them worked after that including the gas and engine temp gauges. Tried putting the old needles in there but it was a different fit. Put the old one back in and sort of worked but then also needles became slow and then stopped. There is also some wiring for the glow faces not sure where to wire those becuase I looked up youtube videos that said to wire to the dimmer but I have a base model civic that doesn't have a dimmer button, not sure if there is any wiring back there if anyone knows (3rd pic). I just put the new one back in but still doesn't do anything. All the indicator lights work and so do the lights when the headlights are on (don't really shine through the new faces though) Personally, I think it could either be a problem with the wire harness that the cluster connects to since it is sort of fragile like something could have broke or disconnected or the needles might need replacing since they seem unreliable. Not sure if anyone has had a similar experience ive looked on other forums it’s kind of a specific problem unfortunately. If anyone has any advice or further questions on what the problem could be let me know.
