Default Need Advice On 2002 CR-V Valve Adjustment

I'm going to be adjusting the valves soon on my 2002 CR-V. How are the cylinders numbered, what is the firing order and which cylinder is #1? Thanks in advance!

Cylinder 1 is the timing chain side. Then it's sequential to the transmission end. 1 2 3 4

Thanks Ryan! Do you happen to know the firing order?

Thank-you for those responses. I adjusted the valves over the weekend and I'll see if it runs any better once I get it back together next weekend.
Question: any suggestions for removing the valve cover? I had to fight with the power steering hose to remove it so I'm wondering if you have any tips on this.
Also, just curious if you guys set your valves on the tight or loose side…maybe in order to prevent the exhaust valves from burning. I set mine in the middle, just wondering what you do.

Hi,
The PS Hose is a PIA, no getting around that no matter how you handle it.

You should notice, better Idle, better Gas Milage, and no burnt Exhaust Valves!

Hard to beat that!

I unbolt the PS hose from the pump, use a S hook and tie it to top to the hood out of the way.

If you do that is there a gasket between the pump body and hose that needs to be replaced?

O ring, get that before starting the job, just like the cover gasket. I have reused it though.

Next time I will definitely get that o-ring and unbolt the hose. Thank-you for that tip, I really appreciate it.
