Default Aging inner weather strips and window streaks

I'm constantly getting streaks on my driver and passenger side inner windows. I've cleaned them multiple times with rubbing alcohol but they keep coming back. According to several posts its the inner weather strip that's the issue. I've looked and a replacement pair are around $120.00. I'm open to DIY solutions. is there anything that you guys tried that works? Is there anything else that can be the source of this if my car has power windows vs manual crank?

I have similar issues. It looks like the adhesive holding the low friction felt layer is failing on the weather strip. I have thought about scraping it off and re-gluing some polyester felt strips as replacements. there is felt tape too, but I have concerns about the adhesive strength.

I don't drive the car often so I doubt I'll do anything soon to test this out. If you try something like that and have success, make sure to share it here.
