Need help finding a solution
96 honda civic dx hatch manual. Has a d16y7 with a y8 head swap.
I snapped a bolt in the head of my d16y7 and replaced the old head with a another y7 head. I put the engine TDC and then put the cam gear mark facing up. So everything in theory should have been timed correctly. Replaced all the gaskets (head gasket, and both intake gaskest.) Adjusted the lashes and plugged everything back in no problem. After all that, I started the car and it ran just like it did before. But this time it had alot of noise from the head, i assumed i bought a bad head and decided to go for vtec instead. So i went out and bought a p2p ecu with matching harness(manual), y8 head, and the air intake manifold(manual.) Once i swapped everything over, ecu, manifold, harness, head. The car is having super high idle now. I start it and it immediately goes up to 5k rpm and then drops like its trying to stall after a few seconds. There is one plug that i cant plug in anywhere and its the evap canister plug. Basically what im asking is, does anyone know a fix the hight idle and the evap plug? Also are those two things related?
