Hello so I need to wire a whole new secondary o2 sensor to the ecu and I’m wondering how I go about it. Do I just route the wires straight to ecu and cut the connector off or something. I’m also confused on where exactly they go in the ecu I’ve looked up diagrams but it’s a d16y8 swap from a dx civic. Also I’ve heard there’s 4 wires or 3 wires and one gets routed to ground? I’m so confused
and a secondary oxygen sensor for an EX. Get a good one - Denso, NTK, or similar. It will have the grommet on it. You'll need to get a hole saw and cut a hole in the floor for it. I think it was 1-1/8", but it's been over two years and I really don't remember, do please don't take my word for it... measure: When you look up under the car, you'll see the exact spot the hole needs go. It's on the tunnel a few inches ahead of the shifter. Be careful cutting, it comes through the floor right under the floor duct for the heater/AC.
Take out the glove box door, center console, and cup holder assemblies so you can see what you're working with. Once you have the hole, install the sensor, plug it up to the extension harness, and run the harness across the front of the AC/heater box and over by the ecu. Cut the other connector off of the extension harness.
I'll explain the wiring part tomorrow. It's late and I'm tired. Here's the diagram in the meantime:
