Integrating a 2001 Civic ECU with a 1992 Civic Instrument Cluster: Challenges and Sol
Hello, I need your help to see if it's possible to make the instrument cluster of a 1992 Civic work with the ECU from a 7th generation Civic D15B 1.7 VTEC. I bought this car with the engine swap already done, but nothing on the cluster works because nothing is connected. I wanted to know if you have the diagrams or pinouts to make it work. It's the original cluster of the 1992 Civic with the ECU from a 2001 7th generation 1.7 VTEC Civic
You have bitten off more than you can chew. Part of the 7G instrument cluster works off a multi-plexer whereas, the 5G cluster is fully analog. In order to make it work, not only will you have to properly wire all of the plugs, but this wiring would have to be extended into the engine bay and back to the fuel tank, and 5G sensors would have to be installed. I suggest you go to a salvage yard and pick up a 7G cluster... they are cheap and plentiful.
