i have a d15b with a seriously messed up FITV, it got corroded so much that the coolant line feeding into the FITV has a hole in it; along with corroding some of the throttle body.
my issue is that i’m looking for a replacement, however i can’t seem to find one that has the correct amount of hose fittings.
second issue is that i have (as i’ve come to find out via many forums) a firewall mounted MAP sensor (i think) and most of the TB’s i’ve seen have the sensor mounted on top of them so my questions are:
1. what TB can i use to replace the broken one? like from what car or engine?
2. should i just buy the one with a TB mounted MAP sensor and try to figure out a new configuration for it?
3. how should i got about doing this?
i was also given a Skunk2 intake with what i assume is a hole for the wall mounted map sensor hose but im not sure, they appear to have the same diameter and size
blue circle is the port for the firewall mounted MAP sensor i believe
1. The proper replacement throttle body for what you are showing in the photo above would be from a '92-96 Prelude or '90-93 Accord.
2. You certainly could use a throttle body which mounts the MAP sensor on the top instead of having the nipple/port for a vacuum line to meet the remote mounted MAP sensor.
3. If you use a throttle body with a MAP sensor mounted on it, simply unplug the firewall mounted MAP sensor and plug in to the throttle body mounted MAP sensor. If the wiring doesn't reach, cut ONE wire at a time and add the necessary length to it so that it will ultimately reach.
I don't see any reason why the throttle body in the photo wouldn't work with what you have now. You would simply need to connect the nipple/port that you have circled in blue to the MAP sensor mounted on the firewall with an appropriate length of vacuum line.
dang i have no idea why i didn’t think of that, what do i do about the hose? can i disassemble the map sensor stuff or just clamp it off with a zip tie?

If you are referring to the MAP sensor on the firewall... once it is unplugged, it matters not what hoses are plugged into it because it is NOT sending any signals to the ECU.
