Default 2024 Honda Civc Touring

I am awaiting the arrival of a 2024 Touring. I know about the oil dilution problem and plan on changing the oil more frequently ($20 in oil), and the filter can go a little longer. Plus the dealer has that Honda care (2 years), but I do not know the frequency.

Does this car have a timing chain or belt?

Any tips on the break-in period for the first 1,000 miles?

Any precautions on the turbo, etc.? I recall back in the 80's that once you stopped with a turbo, allowing the car to idle for 30 seconds to a minute was recommended. Why, I do not recall. Thank you.

The factory "suggested" interval is 7500 miles... which is a bit excessive/long in my opinion.

Does this car have a timing chain or belt? Chain.

Any tips on the break-in period for the first 1,000 miles? Drive it like you would for the REST of the miles that you own it.

If you have driven the car really hard, the turbocharger center section will be hot, and leaving it running at idle for a few minutes before turning the engine off allows oil to continue to circulate through the turbocharger and cool it down.
Answers are in bold above.

Thanks JRCivic1:

Received a call yesterday afternoon, as the car arrived and they have to pick it up. As long as there is no damage, I will have it in my hands on Monday evening.

The next step is to get all-weather floor mats. Weather Tech, even though quite expensive may be the only option. I did not know that in 24 months, 5 oil changes.

The extended warranty for 8 years/125,000 miles also has to be purchased (Peace Of Mind). Sacucci offers a great deal. I doubt the dealers here will even match the quote (They can, but won't) If they want to match the rate with tax, I will pay the tax. If not they are usually double the cost.

I would like to drain/fill at least the oil over the first 1,000-1,500 miles. Once the car is in my hands, I will speak to the dealer.

The only annoying part is having to tell the service department not to damage the car, from the interior to the exterior. I have had several instances over the last 20 years where they have had to replace items, etc. I always take pictures prior. After the free oil changes, I doubt I will go back.

I probably will go with OEM oil filters and Mobil 1 oil. Maybe even Mobil 1 oil filters as the frequency will be every 5,000 miles. Why not, for $30 and 30 minutes of my time?
