Default Give me some options

Hello everyone! I'm a long time lurker mostly for Prelude's. My sister in-law's Civic looks just like the vin decoder stock photo, it's so clean, old lady driven entire life. She is going to need a motor soon, losing compression, she's been car shopping but REALLY LOVES THIS CAR.

What engine do you think I should put in this thing? She doesn't care about power, so I'm thinking JDM since I'm seeing 1.7's for sale just to make it mildly interesting. Would they bolt up to the same manual trans and stock ECU? I just don't want to be boring nor do I want to give myself a wiring/tuning headache. Looking for any easy suggestion! THANK YOU!

Stick with the same d17 that's in it for simple and easy swap.

I'd just find another D17A2 and keep it simple, though some have done the JDM motor. I don't think the JDM D17s are even better though it's basically the A2 but with maybe 2 extra HP from something I can't remember what.
