99 civic lx with ex engine/wiring vtec and adding ex intake
So I came across this rebuild title 99 civic LX 4speed auto with transmission problems for $1,200. Doing much work to it I find out it has an EX, of the same year I suppose, engine and transmission paired but with vtec not hooked up and I finally see why; it's because the kept the LX intake manifold and I think the only reason someone would do that is because they didn't want to cut a whole for the plastic housing that comes up through the frame behind the passenger side head light.
Well I'm going to cut the whole, install the intake housing, manifold, throttle body and try to run a wire to add the vtec but every diagram I come across shows 99 civics with either ABC or ACD on the ecu when mine had all four; ABCD. It's the p2e a92 6a ecu and I believe that makes it obd2a. If you were to look at the diagrams on the interwebs you would see that I found some confusion as to where to wire the pressure switch and vtec solenoid. I still do not know if the wiring harness has ever been switched but I know the ecu is LX. I have a junk yard 6e ecu which is 2000 civic ex coupe auto 4speed. I'm trying to wire this thing. Anybody got any pointers?
