I heard the 98+ JDM ECU's rev limiter is 9k and USDM is 8.4k, and since OBDII suppose to be able to learn new fuel curves, timing, etc, would it be possible to run a JDM ECU with CA's 91 octane and let it learn from idling for 30minutes? Or is that just wishfull thinking?

1, the USDM rev limit is at 8600, redline is 8400.
2, the JDM ECU would suck on cali's 91 octane, it's tuned for higher octane fuel, i believe it's around 96-98 octane by us standards. don't waste your time.

Ya what are you using because I am under the assumption that jdm ecu's don't work on us cars because they are made for right hand drive cars and the connections are backwards or upside down or something? What gives?

obdII plugs, obdI programming.
and i am just running a stock jdm b18c spec r, the ecu does what it should do.
as far as performance wise, its not bad, i just ran with my friend itr today in highway 2 today, not much difference. he got header, stirght pipe, i got lighten flywheel, stock jdm itr exhaust system(whole thing).
I have a 96 spec jdm type r motor in my car ( currently running gsr ecu), I do have a jdm type r Ecu, my question was for those who are using this ECU. Do you have any problems reading your speed, or did you have to buy a new speedometer to read it in KM ?
as far as speed signal, don't worry, ecu doesnt see mph or kph, it just see pulse.

Taken from the Integra brochure fuel cutoff is 8500 rpms
I ran a 98 JDM ITR ecu on 93octane and it was real good. I did a back to back comparrison on the dyno between the USDM and JDM and the JDM gave me 5-7hp across the entire board with no other mods.
If you can live with a speed limiter then its a good ecu to have in my opinion.

Fuel cutoff on ALL DC2 ITRs is at 8600 rpm.

Weird, I scanned this from a 2000 R Brochure
I heard what you said before.
I don't care what the brochure says.
It's wrong.

Based on what? Because you say so? Or our really accurate tach? Honda doesn't know the fuel cutoff of their own car?
