Default Over heating

I have 1996 Honda civic lx a/t 1.6L. (I know this model is little older than this forum but I figured someone should be able to help). I just put in new radiator/fan hoses. Thermostat and thermostat housing and after driving for lil while the car will over heat when in idle after about five mins you can hear the coolant boiling up so to say in the over flow my last radiator had leak and the fan went out so that’s the reason for the replacements. New fan comes on Im thinking maybe the water pump is bad and that it’s not circulating properly hence the over heat when I’m driving it runs just fine. Reason I wasn’t sure about the pump being bad is I’m not a mechanic and thought water pump being bad would effect the timing ?! But haven’t had any issues besides over heat it runs/drives smooth but need to get this figured out before summer since I live in az and it’s gonna start gettin hot out here sooner than later sorry for the paragraph but any tips would be appreciated thanks
