Crank But wont start
Hello everyone!
I'm new here. I was reading some threads that mention the P1078, hoping to find someone with a NO-START situation similar to mine but couldn't find one.
A person who I work for frequently called me to help get his 2002 CR-V EX started after it stalled on the road.
The engine was turning very slowly, even though we jumped it with another truck. My party became disappointed and decided to give the car to me for free. I towed it to my home and had it sitting there for around 45 days before I checked on it.
The first thing I discovered, was that they had overfilled the engine by around 5 quarts of oil. I drained 5 quarts before it arrived at a normal level. I got a new starter and tried to start the car, but got the same result. I then connected the scanner and got the following codes: 0178 IACV Circuit Failure; 1278 IMT (IMRC) Valve Stuck Long; 0661 IMT (IMRC) Circuit Voltage Low.
I removed and tested plugs, removed the fuel rail, tested injectors, tested compression, and all are good. I replaced the Crankshaft and camshaft sensors.
The intake had some engine oil inside, approximately six ounces.
I am about to replace the manifold with IMRC and the sensor.
My main questions are: what damage could have occurred by the overfill of oil that would cause the no start if there is good compression at the plugs? Can a bad IMRC cause the No-Start?
Would the engine start but run rough even when the IMRC is bad, or can a bad intake Manifold cause a no-start?
Thanks for your help, everyone.

Check for fouled plugs, don't hold me to this but I'm pretty sure you can get to a level of overfill that will damage any engine. Seals and the oil being turned to foam by the crankshaft are issues. Just my opinion.
