Got quite the long post here . So I bought this 2000 civic not to long ago , fully gutted . Got no back story on the car but I’m pretty sure it’s been through it . So basically my problem is the rev limit is stuck at 5500rpm . The car is a manual d16y7 (not sure if it’s original y7 car) . I read stock rev limit was 8200 . My limit is at 5500, which is also when a y8 car would hit Vtec . I’m pretty sure I have a y8 harness under the hood (there is a Vtec valve cover on it, sure someone had a different motor in the car) I would just like to be able to rev past 5500 cause by god is it super slow . (Ik it won’t be much faster) I will post some pics of what I got going on under the hood . Is there a plug I can jump for like Vtec Soiliend or something to rev past 5500? It’s not like it’s bogging it just sounds like a Honda rev limiter . PCM code is 37820-P2P-A12 . Just now getting back into Hondas thanks in advance.. also it is a y7 head there is no Vtec soilend . Car idles at 1K and won’t idle until it’s warmed up . There’s look like a whole extra wiring harness plug set aswell . Someone also had a extra coolant temp sensor wired to some random wires aswell ??? And coolant temp sensor was jumped to make fan run 24/7
