D16Y7/Y8 MiniMe Running Rich and Poorly
This is my first post but I have read through many forums on this site before.
I have 2000 Civic Dx Hatch that I bought last July. Bought the car non running with a hole in one of the valves. I have never had the car running right. I am running the y7 block that came with the car when I bought it. I put a freshly machined y8 head that originally came with a Crower Stage 2 cam on the y7. I have since removed it in an attempt to diagnosis my issue, which is that the car is running unbelievably rich. I am running a p28 ecu with a sst chip with a basemap for the cam. I did find out that the IC4 chip was missing. With the stage 2 cam installed, the car was able to drive but would die every time I released the pedal. I also noticed large clouds of smoke behind the car and a heavy gas smell. All 4 spark plugs were very black and visibly wet. When I removed the cam, I was only able to drive around 500 feet before the car stalled out on its own due to it flooding itself. Once again, all spark plugs were wet. It would idle without issue, but when I increased throttle, a large blackish grey cloud of smoke would come out of my exhaust both with and without the cam. I believe that my timing was off, but am unsure if that is the only issue. I also had the IC4 chip installed in my ecu last week and am waiting to receive it in the mail. I have not ran the car since adjusting the timing or with the IC4 chip reading the tune on the chip. I'm aware these are major factors but nonetheless is there anything else that I may be missing. I used the OBD2 ecu that originally came with the car with a scan tool to ensure proper operation of all of my sensors at KOEO but not at running. I have also previously tested both my MAP, TPS, and ECT at KOEO and KOER. All sensors pointed to normal. No opens or shorts. My ecu was tested when the IC4 was installed and has no issues. I also tested my fuel pressure. My fuel pressure readings were also normal at 32 psi at idle and 42 psi at WOT by removing vacuum hose. I removed my injectors and pressurized the rail and had no leaks. My last compression test showed 170 psi across all 4 cylinders. Is there something I am not seeing?
