From: 49 degrees north Washington state.
Default cat delete or hood exit need a tune?

if i delete the cat or get a hood exit exhaust do i need a tune? or will the ecu adjust? this is in a 1998 Honda crv that's stock.

For the check engine light, yes.

For fueling, meh. You could make a touch more power with a tune.

will the check engine light make a limp mode? or will I still be able to get to highway speed?

No limp mode for an under performing cat. Just make sure the upstream o2 sensor remains in place and at least 16" from the open end of the hater pipe.
