WA 2011 CR-Z EX K24Z7 optional Extras
SOLD!
Asking $14,995, right up front this is a rebuilt title car. The second time it was lightly rear ended was when the insurance company decided to take the car away from the original owner. Pictures of damage before repairs are available for interested parties.
Time for me to part with my K24 swapped 2011 Honda CR-Z EX. Painted in beautiful Crystal Black Pearl.
Love the look of the CR-Z? Hate the abysmal performance of the hybrid engine Honda gifted? Well do I have a solution for you! This super clean CR-Z is powered by a K24Z7 from a 2012 Civic SI, that's right, 205hp! Complete with the Civic SI's slick 6 speed manual transmission and factory helical LSD. That's not enough you say? Well bolt on the optional Kraftwerks supercharger and make a healthy 350hp at the tire!
The deets on the build.
Everything for the swap was pulled from a single 2012 Civic SI with 98,057 miles unless otherwise noted.
Engine
Stock K24Z7 with all emissions equipment in tact. Mounted with a combination of Innovative CR-Z replacement mounts and custom brackets between drive train and mounts on the body. Hasport torque mount for the CR-Z because it's a nicer piece than the Innovative. Hondata Flashpro installed, not strictly necessary, ran on the stock Civic SI ECM with no errors. Intake is currently filtered by a monster foam Uni filter stuffed in the front fender for a functional cold air intake.
Transmission
Factory 6 speed manual with LSD. 4.7 final drive with the tallest of 6th gears produced. Factory Civic SI half shafts send the power to the wheels. Customized CR-Z shifter for use with the Civic SI shift cables.
Clutch
Clutch masters FX300 kevlar clutch with their matching stock weight flywheel. Drives like stock but holds more torque and abuse.
Brakes
Front - 11.1" rotors from the Civic SI, new Brembo blanks. Paired with 2008 Acura TSX calipers for better pad selection and wheel clearance. Loaded with Hawk HPS 5.0 pads.
Rear - Stock CR-Z loaded with Hawk HPS 5.0 pad.
Cooling
Full width CR-Z radiator with 2 12" SPAL pushers. No issues staying cool on the hottest of summer days running the AC.
Exhaust
Both Civic SI catalytic converters are in place. Custom 2.5" cat back system. Fully stainless, tig welded. Magnaflow resonator and muffler to a turn down tip tucked under the rear bumper, just like stock. Pretty mild tone, no rasp or drone, no raw exhaust stink.
Wheel and Tire
Enkei RFP1 17x9 +45ET. Continental ExtremeContact Sport in 245/40r17. TPMS sensors installed and factory sensor IDs cloned. Aluminum hub centric spacers, proper cone seat lug nuts, and factory Honda center caps.
Suspension
Ever so slightly lowered on D2 RS coil overs. Not beat you up stiff. Independent ride height and preload adjustment.
Interior
All stock, has the EX subwoofer, optional carpeted floor and trunk mats and cargo cover. Hybrid Racing Delrin R130 shift ****.
Exterior
All stock, has the EX heated mirrors and the optional rear spoiler. 15% tint all around. VLEDs Micro Extreme bulbs in the low and high beam. Morimoto LED fog lamp assemblies.
Integration
Running a custom CAN bus solution to make the drive train and car talk to each other. This allows for things like VSA, AC, Cruise Control, no IMA light on the dash, no CAN error messages. It makes this swap behave like a completely stock Honda. This will be included with the car but the intellectual property behind the software that makes it function is NOT included with the sale.
Supercharger
For an additional $3000 the complete Kraftwerks supercharger will be included. This is a used kit off of a 2012 Civic SI. The supercharger is a brand new warranty replacement unit with new oil reservoir, new filter, new oil. Charge pipes will need to be custom fit to the CR-Z chassis. Fuel injectors are DW1000 that were just cleaned and flow tested and still sealed. DW300C 340lph fuel pump brand new in box. Flowmaster 3 inch metal core catalytic converter. 120mm and 110mm supercharger pulleys. Belts and hardware oh my! ACT Prolite flywheel, compatible with the FX300 clutch. I have not test fit this kit but 3D scan model says it will all fit under the hood.
Also have the factory wheels with TMPS sensors and tires. Backup wheels and tires or make them your winter set?
This is an extremely well sorted car. I performed the swap in 2020 and have put 42,000 flawless miles on it. Very fun car to drive.
Build was semi documented right here on H-T.

Yes I am still going to help with your insight! Aluminum has been here for a while, just need to set aside some time and knock it out.
I should probably get my Insight listed as well. I want to redo the engine mounts to make it more abuse resistant for the next guy.
Maybe even the EF Wagon RT4WD will go on the chopping block.

Got a minute to put the car on the lift and take some more pictures.
VIN tags on the engine and transmission. Matching the 2012 Civic SI. I have a bill of sale from the auction for the Civic.

Another under hood shot of the current configuration. Yes I know that's a weird coolant expansion tank.

Cold air intake in the front bumper. Did it need to be that long? Probably not. It was to work with the factory MAF location and not require Hondata. Some VHT wrinkle black would look really good on that tube.

And one more from the other side. And one more from the other side. That custom AC line looks factory right?

Front D2 Coilover. No the struts are not leaking. The threaded portion was greased to make future adjustments possible.

Rear D2 coilover.

Front left knuckle area with Civic SI halfshaft and TSX brake caliper.

Front right knuckle area with TSX halfshaft and brake caliper.

Shot of the condition of the RPF1 wheels. They are absolutely minty. Never mind the rusty water stains from the brake rotors flash rusting. They wipe off. Valve stem is a chrome plated brass unit with a tab inside for mounting the TPMS sensor.

Under carriage. Clean and tight.

Rear undercarriage. Check out that stealthy down turn exhaust tip.

Front undercarriage. Them 245's look beefy! Hi there Hasport dogbone. Intake tube routing into the bumper. And yes the downpipe between the Civic SI factory primary cat and factory secondary cat is 3". The secondary cat is the adapter to the remaining 2.5" stainless exhaust.

I am watching a lot of used vehicles just sitting for months now. I suspect everyone has run out of money. Not a surprise given the state of things.
