2005 Accord Lower Ball Joint and ABS Sensor
Hello, my name is Brent.
I just replaced the lower front ball joint on my 2005 Accord and now it clunks when hitting bumps. I think I might not have gotten it fully pressed into the steering knuckle so the tapered rod that goes through the hole in the lower control arm can't become fully seated into the hole. Then I couldn't get the castle nut fully torqued because the ball would just spin.
I'm thinking about taking it all apart to press the ball joint in further with the ball joint press. Any ideas?
DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW YOU CAN TELL IF A LOWER BALL JOINT IS FULLY PRESSED INTO THE STEERING KNUCKLE??
Also, I installed a new abs wheel speed sensor that was broken during this job and now my ABS light is on and the abs doesn't work. If i reset the light it comes back on almost immediately after I start driving. I've replaced it twice in case the first one was defective but still have the same problem. Any ideas about this? Does anyone know how to test this? Is there something I need to do with the abs module? I did this whole job on the other side a few years ago and just had to plug the new sensor in and no problems.
Thank you in advance for any advice you can give.
